IT-Talks, Pro-Exchange & Winsec nodigen je van harte uit op hun eerste IT-Pro Chalk Talk sessie, op donderdag 4 maart 2010, in de kantoren van Microsoft België.
Tijdens dit evenement brengen we een panel van MVP’s en experts bijeen die klaar staan om jouw praktische vragen live en interactief te beantwoorden.
Het is de bedoeling om te tonen hoe het panel vanuit hun expertise jouw probleem analyseert en welke denkwijze / denkpiste je kan gebruiken om tot een oplossing te komen.

Hi,

With the arrival of Exchange 2010 you will hear a lot of noise on this technology and as an Exchange community we will surely contribute to that noise.

However not everybody has the opportunity to move to Exchange 2010, some of use are still on Exchange 2003, or even on Exchange 5.5, and are currently in transition to Exchange 2007.

Therefore we decided that our next community event will be on "lessons learned" when implementing Exchange 2007. Let's call it Exchange 2007: Notes from the field...

In 2 hours we will try to go over the following topics:

Firewall & Static Ports
Scalability
Cross-Forest Availability, IOREPL
Transitioning
High Availability options (SSC vs CCR vs SCR)
Storage (DAS vs SAN)
Acceptance & Validation (ex. Loadgen)
Troubleshooting (Perfmon, Extram, Usermon,ExRCA, etc..)
and much more...

The idea is that we will present all of these topics in powerpoint format but to get the most out of this event we expect you to INTERACT. We want to hear about your horror stories, lessons learned and how you creatively worked around an issue.

This event is 100% pure tech talk... :-)

Community Day: Windows 7 RC InstallFest at the Microsoft booth!

Microsoft has announced a very nice idea for our third edition of Community Day! Here it is :-)

Windows 7 RC InstallFest at the Microsoft booth

Come to the Microsoft booth to get Windows 7 installed onto your computer. We are offering different installation options:

· Wipe and load: This installation type will format your hard disk and put Windows 7 onto your machine. You will have to reinstall all applications, like Office, afterwards.

· Boot from VHD: If you are currently running Windows Vista SP1 or higher, you can run Windows 7 next to your current configuration (without impacting your Windows Vista installation). This installation type will change your boot loader and adds a Windows 7 VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) file to your hard disk. Once finished you can either choose to run you current OS or the freshly deployed Windows 7. Please note that you need to have Windows Vista with SP1 or SP2 installed for this to work.

· Dual Boot: This is a traditional dual boot installation where we will deploy Windows 7 next to your current OS.

There will be two different Windows 7 versions available: one is a demo-ready version that you can use to easily demonstrate the new features of Windows 7 towards your colleagues, customers or friends. The second version is the Windows 7 clean install.

IMPORTANT: You are responsible for the data on your machine; you must take a backup of your system upfront, as there can always go something wrong. Keeping your machine in a safe location during the event is your responsibility. Microsoft cannot be held responsible and will not provide any support for the installation of Windows 7, data recovery or any other problem that might occur (directly or indirectly) from your participation in this InstallFest.

Quest vWorkspace is the next generation solution by the Quest Desktop Virtualization Group for provisioning, deploying, and managing enterprise desktop infrastructures. By supporting and integrating with several key Microsoft virtualization technologies like SCVMM, Hyper-V, App-V and Terminal Server Quest vWorkspace and embraces and extends Microsoft to add value for existing Microsoft customers. In addition, Quest vWorkspace uses the native Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to add significant user experience enhancements, creating an Experience Optimized Protocol (EOP) that empowers graphics and multimedia acceleration, bi-directional audio, local text echo, universal print driver, and USB device support.

User Group Event "What's new in Exchange 2010?" was great

Yesterday, May 14th 2009, it was time for another user group event, where we decided to join forces and present for nearly 50 attendees some of the wonderful new features included in Exchange 2010 (Beta). Tonino Bruno gave a very nice overview of the new features, and handed over the sepaker-shirt to Johan Delimon who highlighted the new features included within Exchange UM. After a small break it was my turn to demo some of these new features. Not every feature was included in the demo's, but I did demonstrate the voice mail preview feature, both english and something that should be branded as German. Thanks to Arlindo Alves and Tom Mertens, the entire session was recorded and will be published as a chopstick very soon, so will the slide decks. Keep an eye on our site for future posts on Exchange 2010 :-)

Next to Exchange 2010 (beta), we also announced our new website, kindly hosted by Combell, and we made some additional publicity for our next big event, Community Day.
