Great post. Do you know how communicator queries the AD for the correct sign-in address on 1st login? as you described above?

I have LYNC 2010 setup and in Domain A and when I login communicator automatically logs in for all new users - which is what I want.

I setup a trust with Domain B and when new users login communicator is unable to query AD to obtain the users sign-in. However, if I manually enter the SIP it can login and works for all subsequent logins.

As you can see I have LYNC 2010 installed in a Resource Forest and my Users are in a Accounts forest.

Do you know how to enable Communicator to query the AD to find the users SIP login on 1st logon for users from a different domain? Basically, I want to set up so when new users login to Domain B communicator is able to automatically query AD for the correct signin name and auto log them on. (as mentioned before this works for users in Resource Domain A where LYNC 2010 is installed but does not work for users in User Domain B).

Sorry for the long comment and hope I make sence

Thanks in Advance

ECL

It very clearly states this note:

Note If User Account Control (UAC) is turned on, you must start the Cumulative Server Update Installer by using elevated permissions. This makes sure that all updates are installed correctly.
