Hi got a few question about how to get my Out of Office to work on my Exchange server 2007.

First a few details about my server:
Windows Server 2008 Standard 64-bit
Running Exchange Server 2007
Updated with Service Pack 2

Now a few word about my setup:
My server running more than company's mail. Like test1.com, test2.com and test3.com. And my Exchange servers domain is  exchange-mail.dk. Every Company is connected to the server through an VPN-tunnel, and it works very well.

The problem:
When a user want to set his Out of Office, then its not possible. Why? Because its looking for test2.com/autodiscovery and not exchange-mail.dk/autodiscovery.

What should i do to get my clients to set up their Exchange.account through Autodiscovery? So the Out of Office will work. Where should i change some informations? In my DNS on each domain? On the Exchange Server in Autodiscovery?

I know that the problem is my autodiscovery or DNS, so just need some help to find out where i can get this to work. If you need further information about the setup, please say so and i will return with the informations as fast as possible.

/Kind Regards Anders Jensen

Hi Anders,

Did you check out the section "Hosted Environments and the Autodiscover Service" in this TechNet article? It discuses DNS config, IIS redirection and SSL requirements.

Hi,

This is the easiest to setup but not the nicest one as users need to confirm the redirection the first time

Okay thank you for the great answers i got it work by redirecting, but as you told Johan, my users now have to click yes everytime they open there mail-system.

What can i do to get this away? Does i really have to buy a SSL certificate for each domain on the mail server?

/Anders

Buying a UCC certificate with all domains in the SAN list is the easiest & best solution
That is one certificate with additional names in the certificate
These are the certified Certificate providers that can deliver UCC Certificates with multiple names

You can find more info here (Scenario 1):

There is a workaround, but then you need to modify the SCP record in AD

Actually you can surpress the redirect warning for your end-users... simply install the Office 2007 post SP1 hotfix or deploy Office 2007 SP2. In addition you need to push a reg key to your workstation to include the domains you do not want to receive a warning for
